Michael Jordan has given his condolences to the Scott family; “First, I want to express my condolences to the Scott family for their loss,” Jordan says. “I also wish for a full recovery to those who have been injured.”
The shooting took place shortly after the Terence Crutcher shooting in Tusla, and has wracked the normally peaceful city of Charlotte with grief and violence. Protesters have taken to the streets the past 3 nights; two nights ago riots destroyed local businesses, were the cause of 44 arrests as well as 14 injuries between both civilians and police.
Michael Jordan, the NBA legend also owns the Charlotte Hornets basketball team and had this to say;
“In light of the tragic events of the past three days, it is more important than ever that we restore calm and come together, as a community, in peaceful demonstration and conversation, and in constructive and non-violent ways,” Jordan said. “As part of the fabric of Charlotte, the Hornets organization is committed to working with civic leaders, our elected leaders and law enforcement to foster more trust, transparency and understanding so we can heal and grow together as a community.”
May justice be served, and peace soon return to Charlotte.
